Each piece begins as a study of place—translated into texture, form, and line.
The work is built by hand using layered materials and custom framing, allowing each piece to carry both structure and change.
MATERIALS
The work combines relief texture, mineral-based surfaces, and gold leaf to reflect the physical qualities of land and water.
Each piece is developed through a hands-on, layered process over multiple stages. Layers are built up and carved back to create depth, then finished with metallic elements that trace the movement of waterways.
The contrast between matte texture and reflective gold is central to the work—capturing both stillness and movement within a single surface.
The result is a body of work that reflects both the physical landscape and the process used to create it.
PROCESS
Each piece is developed through a hands-on, layered process.
Surfaces are constructed, shaped, and refined over multiple stages, allowing the material to guide the final form. No two pieces are identical.
Variations in texture, tone, and edge are a natural result of this process and are considered an essential part of the work.
FRAMING
Every piece is set within a custom-built wood frame, made specifically for the work.
The frame is designed to complement the material and provide structure without competing with the surface.
Slight variations in wood grain and tone are part of the natural character of the material.
VARIATION
Due to the handcrafted nature of the work, each piece is one of a kind.
Color and finish may vary slightly depending on lighting and environment, and natural variations in texture are to be expected.
INSTALLATION & SCALE
While each piece can stand alone, the work is designed to function as part of a larger composition.
Pieces may be grouped to create cohesive wall installations, or developed at larger scales for custom projects.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the work, each piece is one of a kind.
