A sculptural interpretation of the Mississippi River as it winds from Kenner through New Orleans and down toward Jean Lafitte.
This piece captures both geography and movement—the river rendered in gold leaf over a deep red ground, subtly revealed through the surface. The surrounding texture is built by hand, with abstract markings that echo the rhythm of roadways and city grids.
The result is a piece that feels both ancient and modern—part map, part memory, part landscape.
Details:
• Original artwork (one of a kind)
• Size: 24" x 18"
• Materials: layered texture, acrylic, gold leaf
• Color palette: warm white, gold, deep red undertones
• Unframed
• 2" gallery-wrapped edge, ready to hang
Each piece is handmade and will vary slightly in texture and finish. Subtle variations, markings, and tonal differences are part of the process and make every work unique.
Colors may appear slightly different in person depending on lighting and environment.
This piece works beautifully as a standalone statement or as part of a larger installation.
Larger commissioned river and landscape pieces are available upon request.
